MHMP Classic Pizza Sauce
This simple tomato sauce is versatile and can be used as a topping for a variety of different pizza styles. However, it is especially well-suited for Neapolitan pizza,
Servings 4 12 inch pizzas
- 1 400 gram can of Italian tomatoes (we recommend San Marzano plum tomatoes or Mutti Polpa as an alternative)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ¼ - ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ tsp chilli flakes (optional)
If using plum tomatoes, pulse them in a blender until you have a sauce of desired consistency (not too thin). Add ½ tsp salt, oregano, olive oil and chilli flakes. Add ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp oregano, ½ tsp olive oil, and ¼ tsp chilli flakes (optional).
For Mutti Polpa, add ¼ tsp salt, 1 tsp oregano, ½ tsp olive oil, and ¼ tsp chilli flakes (optional). Mix well.
Ladle onto your pizza base and enjoy!
